According to a man from northern Nigeria, Nigeria can only be transformed by Islamic law.

Call me whatever you want, but only Islamic law has the power to transform this nation, wrote the social media user @sarki_sultan.

The social media user's bio indicates that he is a UK resident.

The question of whether Nigeria is now an Islamic country has been raised by Nigerians in response to President Bola Tinubu's attendance at the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, earlier this week.

Additionally, it comes just two weeks after the House of Representatives rejected a bill that sought to amend the constitution to make Sharia law more than just a personal matter.

The bill should be rejected, according to Osun State lawmaker Bamidele Salam, because it could jeopardize the freedom that all Nigerian religions enjoy.
