In its assault against Hezbollah militants in Lebanon, Israel increased the number of its targets on Monday. According to health officials, one attack in the north killed at least 21 people, while millions of Israelis sought refuge from rockets thrown back across the border. Israel's military actions in Lebanon have so far mostly targeted the southern region, the eastern Bekaa Valley, and the Beirut suburbs.

Joseph Trad, the mayor of the Christian-majority town of Aitou, told Reuters that a property rented to displaced family was damaged by the strike. According to the Lebanese health ministry, eight individuals were hurt in addition to the fatalities.

On Monday, rescuers at the strike site combed amid heaps of debris, where trees and charred cars were scattered all over the ground. Jalal Ferhat and Amal Tefayeli, a couple with five children, were among those unloading things from buses at the Masnaa border crossing with Syria in an attempt to depart Lebanon.

Ferhat, 40, of Baalbek, a Hezbollah stronghold in eastern Lebanon, said, "They (Israeli forces) hit near my house, and there are strikes in our neighbourhood and destruction." "I have children, you can't just stay where you are." Residents in central Israel heard alarms and hurried to shelters. Three rockets that had crossed from Lebanon were intercepted, according to the IDF. There were no reported injuries.
