Attacks against civilians, including aid workers, and what's left of Gaza's infrastructure and civilian facilities must cease, according to UNICEF.

"Attacks against civilians, including aid workers, and what remains of Gaza's civilian facilities and infrastructure must cease," according to UNICEF.

"The attacks in North Gaza have already been deadly this weekend," she stated. In Jabalia, where strikes destroyed two apartment structures housing hundreds of people, more than 50 children are said to have died in the last 48 hours alone.

When travelling through Jabalia-Elnazla this morning, a UNICEF employee who was working on the polio vaccination programme had his personal vehicle fired upon by what we think was a quadcopter. The vehicle was broken. Thankfully, the employee was unharmed. She has been profoundly affected, though.

A polio vaccination campaign was in progress when another incident near a vaccination facility in Sheikh Radwan reportedly injured at least three youngsters. "An additional illustration of the serious repercussions of the indiscriminate assaults on people in the Gaza Strip are the attacks on Jabalia, the immunisation centre, and the UNICEF employee.

"These most recent events, when combined with the horrifying number of child deaths in North Gaza from other attacks, write yet another dark chapter in one of the darkest periods of this terrible war."

Attacks against civilians, including aid workers, and what's left of Gaza's infrastructure and civilian facilities must cease, according to UNICEF. All Palestinians in North Gaza, particularly children, are in immediate danger of dying from food, sickness, and the continuous bombardments, the statement stated.

UNICEF is requesting that Israel look into the circumstances of the attack on one of its employees right now and take steps to hold those responsible accountable. Additionally, UNICEF urges member states to prioritise the protection of children by using their power to guarantee adherence to international law. The time to put a stop to this war has passed.
