During the 57th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Saudi Arabia once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting Sudan amidst the escalating humanitarian crisis.
Abdulmohsen bin Majed bin Khothaila, Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the United Nations, delivered a critical statement regarding the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Sudan.

In his address, Khothaila stressed the urgent need to protect Sudan and its citizens, highlighting the severe impacts of the ongoing conflict. Since April 2023, the clash between the Sudanese army, led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces, commanded by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, has led to a staggering death toll and widespread displacement.

Khothaila emphasized the crucial need for the international community to ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers while maintaining safe humanitarian corridors.

Saudi Arabia called on global leaders to prioritize the welfare of the Sudanese people, work towards ending the conflict, and strive for stability and security in Sudan.
