Sanusi Acknowledged by Shettima As The Emir Of Kano

Following Vice President Kashim Shettima's designation of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano, there have been reactions.

According to Daily Trust, the Vice President referred to Sanusi as the 16th Emir on his official Facebook page and other social media accounts. This prompted social media users to react, interpreting it as a support for Sanusi's right to the Kano throne.

Two emirs have emerged in the state: Sanusi and Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir, although the Kano Emirates dispute is still pending in court.

The first line of the post says, "I was present at the wedding of the daughter of former Kano State Governor Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso on Saturday.

"Kwankwaso married Fahad, the son of business tycoon Alhaji Dahiru Mangal of Katsina, to his daughter, Dr. Aishatu Kwankwaso.

"Prof. Sani Zahraddeen, the Chief Imam of Kano, presided over the wedding that was held at the palace of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano.


"I expressed my sincere hopes for a lifetime of happiness with the newlyweds."

However, following a few social media user reactions, the post's third paragraph was later changed to remove the emir's name.


It now says: "Prof. Sani Zahraddeen, the Chief Imam of Kano, conducted the wedding that was held at the Kano Emir's palace."

Alhassan Ali Lawan, a social media user, responded by saying, "Your Excellency, we are happy that you accepted the invitation! We are also pleased that our emir has been recognized as Kano State's sixteenth emir. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, the presidential candidate, wishes you a safe and happy return home! Again, thank you!

Najeeb Sule Alfindi, another user, commented, "The third paragraph, where you stated that it took place at the palace of the Emir of Kano and then you mentioned who is the Emir Muhammad Sunusi II, is the best paragraph that impresses me." Thank you, sir.

According to Musa Kabir, "Masha Allah! We sincerely appreciate your attendance, Your Excellency, on behalf of the good people of Kano State. I am confident that you can bring this nation's six geopolitical zones together. Second, I thought your statement about the 16th Emir of Kano State was excellent. We have chosen Malam Sunusi Lamido Sunusi, and I hope that you will lead this country in the future.
