The Qur'an mentions the names of 25 Prophets explicitly. Here are their names in both Arabic and English, along with the Qur'anic verses where they are mentioned:


1. Adam (آدم)
Verse: Surah Al-Baqarah (2:31)
Arabic: وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا
Translation: "And He taught Adam the names—all of them."

2. Idris (إدريس)
Verse: Surah Maryam (19:56)
Arabic: وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ
Translation: "And mention in the Book Idris."

3. Nuh (نوح)

6. Ibrahim (إبراهيم)

7. Lut (لوط)

8. Ismail (إسماعيل)

13. Ayyub (أيوب)

Arabic: وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ
Translation: "And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord."

14. Dhul-Kifl (ذو الكفل)

Arabic: وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ
Translation: "And [mention] Ishmael and Idris and Dhul-Kifl."

15. Musa (موسى)

Arabic: وَإِذْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ
Translation: "And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture."

16. Harun (هارون)

18. Sulayman (سليمان)

Translation: "And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind."

19. Ilyas (إلياس)

20. Al-Yasa' (اليسع)

21. Yunus (يونس)

22. Zakariyya (زكريا)

Translation: "[This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah."

23. Yahya (يحيى)

Arabic: يَا زَكَرِيَّا إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ ٱسْمُهُ يَحْيَىٰ
Translation: "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John."

24. Isa (عيسى)
Verse: Surah Al-Baqarah (2:87)
Arabic: وَآتَيْنَا عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
Translation: "And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs."

25. Muhammad (محمد)
Verse: Surah Al-Fath (48:29)
Arabic: مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ
Translation: "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."

These 25 prophets are explicitly mentioned in the Qur'an, though there are indications that many more prophets were sent to humanity. However, these are the ones directly mentioned by name.
